EYES PRIED SHUT

MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS

EYES PRIED SHUT

I have to be honest when I say that I am becoming a bit desensitized to school shootings. They are becoming as normal as tornado warnings or warnings of major storms. It is also interesting to note that with this analogy, there is also a warning or indication that a storm is coming and lately those warnings go unheeded and when they do, we pull out the body bags and run the medial history of the suspected gunman.

It is all routine, actually.

The face of suspected gunman Nikolas Cruz stared at me today from my smart phone and there was something in his eyes which made me want to stop everything and bury myself in the story.

I won’t be cliché and say that I saw pure evil that is good for the TV news what I saw was anger and pain. I also saw someone whose mind had been put in a blender, pureed and then poured down the sink; whatever was left of him was able to buy a gun and kill and injure innocent victims at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

I felt that I had responsibility to the 17 that were killed to get out information to the public about concerns that go beyond the various debates on mental illness or gun control.

I wish that I could use a magic wand that stop these pointless debates that wear thin on the nightly news.

The truth that we have to understand is mocking the old arguments. However, you will not hear the truth about what is happening with this school shooting because it is not within the narrative parameters that most people want to frame it in.

The truth is an annoying matter and I realize this every time I decide to wait for more information from channels that I trust – it is not my style to jump on stories like this without digging a little deeper and trying to find some things that will not be reported by the mainstream press.

I also like to dig through all of the various conspiracy theories to see just how many disinformation agents are out there trying to push an agenda that is overtly political.

The debate is always narrowed down to who wants to disarm us and gun advocates including the president have now decided to scapegoat how we handle mental health issues as the reason these tragedies happen.

You don’t have to be psychoanalyst to figure out that anyone who opens fire on a school and kills 17 people is mentally ill.

This is lazy. Arguments against license gun owners and the Second Amendment are lazy too.

Whenever I hear politicians say “We can do more to stop this,” I realize that this is code for “We should confiscate weapons” and I know that this aggravates people who know that the second amendment should not be infringed upon.

All of the prayers, speculation and talk about pulling together in times of crisis, sound good in a sound bite, but the reality makes all of the romanticized platitudes sound lame and hollow.

That is because the arguments that we hear about the suspects mental challenges, political leanings and the continued gun control arguments do nothing to expose where the failure truly lies.

I have pointed out before that there is one glaring pattern that I have been noticing with most of these shootings and that is The FBI had been aware of the perpetrator prior to the incident or were notified prior about a potential problem and took no steps to keep it from happening.

In September, a YouTube user named Nikolas Cruz left a comment on a video stating, “I’m going to be a professional school shooter.” The video’s creator alerted both the FBI and YouTube.

A regular YouTube watcher named Ben Bennight alerted the FBI, emailing a screenshot of the comment and calling the bureau’s Mississippi field office. He also flagged the comment to YouTube, which removed it from the video.

Agents with the bureau’s Mississippi field office got back to him “immediately,” and conducted an in-person interview the following day.

That was the last he heard from the FBI until after the school shooting on Wednesday, when the man arrested had the same name, Nikolas Cruz.

Instagram was informed that someone named Nicholas Cruz was posting pictures of himself wearing military and militia gear holding up many guns and ammo. Students also said that he would post pictures of himself killing animals as well. Those pictures were also reported to both Instagram and the police.

Still no one bothered to investigate.

So the FBI knew that someone named Nicholas Cruz posted that he was going to be a professional school shooter, he sent out all sorts of red flags on Instagram. Modeling his guns and gruesomely killing animals — and the FBI did nothing.

Today, I heard many phantom experts explain on CNN that this FBI snafu was an isolated incident of someone falling through the cracks. Whenever the failure of the FBI was mentioned in the conversation these former intelligence men that were interviewed tried to detour the conversation into the gun argument or the mental health argument.

One spokesman also mentioned that you can’t expect the FBI to investigate where the YouTube post came from because according to the spokesperson – this could have been posted by anyone from anywhere in the world and the FBI doesn’t have the manpower to try and pinpoint where the online post came from.

When I heard that my mouth dropped.

Just a few days ago we heard testimony given by the National Intelligence Committee that they know for a fact that the Russians are using the internet to try and disrupt the midterm elections. Yet when a person who has had a history of posting psychotic ramblings on the Internet, parades guns, kills animals on Instagram and is reported by Vlogger to the FBI – it is an isolated incident where the suspect simply fell through the cracks.

It was then, that someone piped up and said it would be easier to track these sort of internet threats if we could just beef up security in these systems and that there could be more controls with how the internet operates.

I thought Problem, Action, Solution – the Hegelian Dialectic.

If you want to call out any communist conspiracies – it was Karl Marx that used the Hegelian dialectic of Problem, Action, Solution to back up the economic theories of Communism.

This type of philosophy has been used by governments to justify stripping people of their civil rights.

If you always find yourself questioning the logic of the intelligence agencies in this country then may be more awake than you realize.

There is something that does not make sense with this whole “The FBI let this one slip through the cracks excuse”—but what does make sense is the pattern I see with every bombing, shooting, or terrorist attack and that is FBI negation of red flags and how tragedies could have been averted if someone acted upon threats.

A great deal of “What if” and soul-searching follows in the wake of any disaster. Many people are capable of seeing warning signs.

However, the FBI seems to be completely blind to Islamic and domestic terrorism, but expects trillions of dollars to fight so-called Russian meddling and Cyber Warfare.

When the people demand that something be done – deep pockets pay off the war hawks and the cycle of government sanctioned violence begins, while the experts are still debating on whether or not the government should disarm its citizenry.

Thanks in large part to our government, American society assumes violence solves problems, whatever those problems may be. It seems that there are a lot of Americans that feel good about their government dehumanizing others and committing mass acts of violence in the name of what they feel is “right” or “good.”

When a culture of violence intersects with an inherently violent predatory government, you begin to see that Americans of all political persuasions are shooting each other in the streets and in schools.

There is a good argument for why the mental health in the country is bad – violence is all we know, it is all we see and when we ask why the intelligence agencies have failed – we are told that it is our fault and that they need more power to take away freedom in order to provide protection.

So perhaps instead of reforming gun laws or turning our schools into fortresses, America needs to take a long hard look at how the intelligence operations of this country are intentionally creating chaos in order to justify big budgets for keeping people under surveillance.

In my clouded memory I recall that there was a time in the United States here we naively perceived that organizations like the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency were both apolitical existing only to calmly and professionally promote the safety and security of the nation.

After the attacks on 911 it was painfully obvious that a criminal element existed in these agencies – this element used to be called the Shadow Government, now we know it as the Deep State.

After naming the terrorist groups responsible for the 911 attacks we also learned that both the CIA and FBI had made fatal mistakes in their investigations of al-Qaeda.

This should have been the first red flag. Many conspiracy theorists had pointed out that what happened was obviously an inside job, which put into question their effectiveness, and the leaders of both organizations began to focus on pleasing their political masters.

Now it appears that they no longer care to please any of their political masters and wish to have their tentacles in every facet of our lives.

The Deep State operatives within the intelligence agencies are not our friends and it is obvious that they do not wish to stop these crimes where mass deaths occur.

It is sad really to see that many neo liberals will all gather around the intelligence operations in this country and praise their so called investigations into Russia gate and believe because of their political bias that they are doing a service to our democracy.

However these same agencies that know that Russia meddled are the same agencies that interviewed accuse Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, two years before he and his brother, Dzhokhar, set off homemade bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, which killed three people, injured hundreds of others.

Remember it was the FBI that had interviewed Omar Saddiqui Mateen twice prior to his opening fire at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida, killing 49 people and wounding over 50 more.

In 2015, 14 people were killed at company Christmas party in San Bernardino, California with another 22 injured. The suspects, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, had entered the U.S. using a K-1 visa, and had supposedly gone through three different U.S. intelligence agency checks.

Former FBI Director James Comey was even questioned about the process in front of Congress, If you remember Comey was not even aware if any of them were interviewed about “discrepancies” that were found in her applications.

At Fort Hood, there were 13 people gunned down by Nidal Hasan, a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist.

If you remember t he FBI had intercepted emails between the shooter and a radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. The FBI stated that the emails were “fairly benign.” It was the FBI Director Robert Mueller that went on national television to discuss the string of intercepted emails.

In May 2015, two men opened fire outside of a provocative “Draw Muhammad” event in Garland, Texas. While the suspects were ultimately the only casualties, the attack is notable in that it became the first ISIS-claimed attack on American soil. It is also notable, because of the close proximity between an FBI agent and one of the suspects, both before and during the attack.

Bruce Joiner, a security guard who was shot and wounded after Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi opened fire outside of the event, is now suing the FBI for $8 million. He has filed a lawsuit claiming that FBI agents “solicited, encouraged, directed and aided members of ISIS in planning and carrying out the May 3 attack.”

If Joiner does not reach a settlement with the Bureau, “the case could shake loose hundreds of documents from both local and federal officials about what happened that day, and could answer the question of why an FBI agent was in a car directly behind the attackers and did nothing as the events unfolded.”

Elton Simpson gained the FBI’s attention a few years before the attack, as a Muslim who they saw as vulnerable to radicalization. In fact, FBI agents were reportedly monitoring him in the weeks leading up to the attack, and there was even an agent in a car following him to the scene, who did nothing to prevent the crime.

According to a report from CBS News, court records revealed that the FBI agent who was in the car directly behind Simpson and Soofi during the attack had “texted Simpson just weeks before with the message, ‘Tear up Texas,’” and he was even “taking pictures of the car about 30 seconds before the first shots were fired.” As soon as the suspects opened fire, the agent fled the scene.

This incident was known as the Garland, Texas attack.

The lawsuit also calls out former FBI Director James Comey, claiming that he worked to cover up the Bureau’s prior knowledge of the threat posed by Simpson:

“In the aftermath of the attack, former FBI Director James Comey lied to the American people by claiming that Simpson was a needle in a haystack’ that was ‘invisible to us.’ Even after it had come to light that an undercover FBI agent had been communicating extensively with the terrorists during the week prior to the event and had accompanied them as they carried out the attack, the FBI continued to assert that “there was no advance knowledge of a plot to attack the cartoon drawing contest.”

Furthermore, the FBI’s long history of infiltration, incitement to violence, and entrapment, is little known to Americans because the media’s lack of integrity. After the first World Trade Center bombing, on February 26, 1993, the news media breathlessly reported detail after detail of the FBI’s painstaking investigation. Sifting through bomb debris, investigators found an axle with a VIN (vehicle identification number). That led them to a truck rental outlet in New Jersey. When one of the alleged bombers, Mohammed Salameh, returned to the rental store to report that the van he had rented had been stolen, and to get his deposit back, he was arrested. Good police work led to other conspirators, and eventually the case was cracked through methodical detective work. The reality was quite different.

Three months after the bombing, in May 1993, it was revealed that an FBI informant had taught Salameh how to drive the van, two days before the bombing. In June, it was disclosed that a former Egyptian military officer, Emad Salem, had penetrated the alleged bomb conspiracy for the FBI, and had helped test explosives, and had rented the apartment where explosives were mixed. Even as more reports came out over the summer, the FBI maintained that its informant, Salem did not know in advance about the plans to bomb the World Trade Center. Eight months after the bombing, on Oct. 28, 1993, the New York Times published a blockbuster story revealing the existence of tapes that Salem had made while talking with FBI agents, which showed that some agents and supervisors had known all along about the bomb-making plans.

Law enforcement officials were told that terrorists were building a bomb that was eventually used to blow up the World Trade Center, and they planned to thwart the plotters by secretly substituting harmless powder for the explosives.

An informant was to have helped the plotters build the bomb and supply the fake powder, but the plan was called off by an FBI supervisor who had other ideas about how the informer, Emad A. Salem, should be used.

So I think the point has been made — we can see that the systemic failure exists in the intelligence apparatus of our country – they will not take the blame for anything and the media has now hired many of their agents as news reporters and commentators to cover their failures.

They are too busy focusing on political issues, and investigating Red Herrings like Russia hacking us and our elections. The same players who have totally screwed up terrorist investigations in the past are now in charge of giving us what they call the truth about Russia.
