Another 4th of July is upon us and while I have fond memories of the day, sadly it is becoming more like Christmas. The commercialism and politics of the day seem to be far more important than what the day is set out to celebrate.
It gets twisted to becoming a political holiday and much like Christmas it does not escape the debate over whether or not the United States is a country ordained by the Judeo Christian God and founded on Christian scriptures and dogmas.
I don’t understand why it is so important for Christian Right wing radicals to twist reality and history about our independence and equally I fail to understand why the fact that our founding fathers weren’t exactly Christians furthers the cause of atheism.
If anything the guarded secret of everything we celebrate from Christmas to Independence Day is well rooted in paganism. Some people will go as far to say that the whole American organization was a great Luciferian construct with symbols and signs indicative of satanic chicanery.
I once presented a multimedia show with Freeman Fly and Rex Church of the Church of Satan demonstrating the various pentagrams, obelisks and strange architecture in Washington DC. There is imagery and simulacrum of George Washington posing as the Satanic Baphomet and even Uncle Sam looks very much like the Goat’s head used in satanic imagery.
But that does not change the jingoistic and nationalist zeal of most Christians.
I know that I will be unpopular amongst the Christian “freedom fighters” by saying that there is no such connection between Christianity, religious freedom, or anything like that which is exaggerated at the pulpit and on Fox news every Fourth of July.
The whole “United States was meant or has always been a Christian nation” myth irritates me because it is always an argument that has absolutely no truth to it and yet it is recited as fact every Independence day by uppity Christians who worry that they will be kept from the parades and the potato salad if we allow godless people to take control of anything American.
Well please eat your potato salad and choke down another Bratwurst because I am going to give you information that for many will sit with them like undercooked barbecued Chicken.
The first Colonists, NOT AMERICANS were actually leaving Europe because of religious Persecution.
What we understand now is that they were intolerant Protestants that were escaping Christian persecution. They were fanatics that no lone liked and so they were forced to leave. Now let us make something clear, they weren’t the founding fathers. They were just people coming to the new world from Spain, Holland and Great Britain.
The first inhabitants of what we call America were most definitely not Christians. They were American Indians. They were considered savages by the Protestants. And we all know what Colonizing Christians do with savages.
They share with them their so called Christian values and then kill them.
So for the record Right wing Christians forget to mention that the original Christians that came to America slaughtered American Indians. So I guess we can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the colonists were not the founding fathers. That those original colonists were some defect in history spreading their murderous version of Christianity.
History states that The Spanish founded the first European colony in North America at St. Augustine, Florida, in 1565. In 1607, the London Company founded the Jamestown colony.
In 1620 the Mayflower lands at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts and its colonists formed the Mayflower Compact to establish a form of local government. Now the Mayflower Compact was truly Christian and their entire purpose was to break away from the Church of England. Well it seems that when Christians become intolerant of beliefs they tend to fight amongst themselves and so thus we see the beginning of the Puritan movement.
The Puritans were a real ugly and evil lot. Just a another smear of blood and intolerance, on pages of our History.
In 1636 Roger Williams founded Providence and Rhode Island because his fellow Christians banished him from Massachusetts because he had an idea that was “new and dangerous ” he called for religious and political freedoms, including separation of church and state.
Now I would like to know how Christians who continue to say that this country was founded on Christian principles can deny the history of religious intolerance that was plaguing the North American continent before our founding fathers were even born?
Providence became a haven for many other colonists fleeing religious intolerance. In 1646, the Massachusetts general court approved a law that made religious heresy punishable by death! Once again we are asking where the Christian values begin to play into the founding of this The United States of America.
By 1692 God and Christ were all but a footnote as Massachusetts rounds up suspects accused of witchcraft. They are arrested and imprisoned. Some were burned and others drowned or Crushed to death under the weight of heavy stones. These intolerant Christians accused one-hundred-fifty people of their own citizens of being witches and they executed twenty of them.
In 1700, Massachusetts passes a law ordering all Roman Catholic priests to leave the colony within three months upon penalty of life imprisonment or execution New York also passes a similar law. In 1702, the Anglican Church gets established as the official church in the state of Maryland. In 1706 South Carolina also established the Anglican Church as its official church.
Even Thanksgiving another so called Christian holiday of thanks was never really celebrated in the way we celebrate it now until 1777. Before, it was merely a celebration of the harvest which of course is well rooted in pagan traditions not Christian traditions.
Rejecting the Pagan harvest, Puritan clerics wanted the traditions celebrated in response to God’s favorable Providence instead of the festival which had pagan overtones.
This is where most Christians get their odd ideas about the United States being founded on Christian Values. They get it from the idyllic nature of fictional Pilgrims coming in peace and establishing a new world where all men can worship without persecution. The romanticism of American Indian and Christian pilgrim is encouraged every year.
The myth of the First Thanksgiving tells us that good Christian Pilgrim families gathered in a pastoral celebration with the American Indians in peace and harmony, thus symbolizing the potential for unity of different ethnic backgrounds.
Even though it never happened that way.
The Pilgrims are the Christian spiritual ancestors of the same intolerant breed who make up silly stories about how the United States was formed using Christian values.
All of this religious fighting and intolerance occurred well before the establishment of the United States.
European settlers began to notice how these religious fanatics were thwarting the cause of freedom. By the mid 1750s, the colonists who would later become the founding fathers began to introduce heretical ideas and the rebellion was brewing.
Benjamin Franklin published Poor Richard’s Almanac, and he begins to criticize Christian principles and hypocritical preachers. His almanac also uses astrology and other forms of divination that did not meet up with approval from the governing hierarchy. With the nom deplume of Silence Dogood , Franklin seizes the opportunity to speak out about injustices being predicated by the oppressive Christian governors.
He wrote in the Almanac that people ought to speak well of their government when it is deserving, but to do public mischief without people hearing of it is the prerogative of tyranny. People need to be trustees for the administration of the government. In ancient Rome freedom of speech was a symptom and effect of good government. The guilty dread free speech because it exposes them to light. When the bad Roman emperors took away liberty, freedom of speech was also lost. He preached rebellion against the Christian stronghold. Franklin was a founding Father. He had no love for Christianity.
More and more Americans become wary of religious and political impositions on their life. In January of 1776, Thomas Paine published “Common Sense” in Philadelphia which criticized King George III’s allegiance to the religious Monarchy, and argues for American independence. It becomes an instant best-seller.
In his later writings such as “Age of Reason” Paine was animatedly attacking the Christian power elite for trying to establish a Christian government in the colonies. Paine attacked Christian Scripture and corruption of the Christian Church and criticized its efforts to acquire political power. Paine advocated reason in the place of revelation leading him to reject miracles and to view the Bible as an ordinary piece of literature rather than as a divinely inspired text.
Remember now, all this was happening before we saw the emergence of the Declaration of Independence and the Establishment of the United States. The feeling of many of the colonists was anti religious Monarchy, anti-institutionalized religion, and anti taxation.
The colonists wanted to break away from established religion, or official state religion so that they could worship how where or whatever they chose. They were not all Christian and the very idea of the state establishment of religion during the drafting of the Declaration of independence is ignorance of history.
The Founding Fathers were conspirators against the religious Monarchy, Christian institutions and the unnecessary taxation from the crown. If they were doing the same actions today, in this era of time they would be labeled homegrown fanatical terrorists. If they showed up on Oprah, or Nightline speaking of their philosophies they would be asked to apologize to the various Christian groups and to the Government for urging people to not pay their taxes.
They would be called “tea baggers” a gay euphemism for sucking testicles, “racists” because anyone who questions a black President’s policies today are judged that way by uppity self loathing liberals and “troublemakers” by hack jingoistic right wing nationalists that are just as bad if not worse than the left.
As you can tell I am completely fed up with the majority who allow ignorance to rule their divisive arguments to further an agenda that completely polarizes a country that is going absolutely nowhere. It seems that this behavior has clouded the reality that the two sided political game is an illusion to allow the state to tale control by confusion and force.
The police state keeps us as one nation under guard. The idea that the United states functions on Christian principles is such a pipe dream that people are willing to hand over everything to their masters fearing that the wrath of God will come if they rebel.
The God or forefathers spoke of in the first few phrases of the Declaration of Independence was not the Judeo Christian God, but a pantheistic god of nature and divine providence. In fact George Washington was a Pantheist who believed in divine providence. The Declaration reads plainly:
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
It is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of nature is Not Jesus Christ. The God of nature is the horned god Pan. Thomas Jefferson while being raised in the Episcopal philosophies and perhaps baptized Anglican eventually fully rejected Christianity. He had his doubts about god and even though he wasn’t a follower of Christ he respected his moral code. Jefferson and the founding Fathers wanted above all to spotlight moral conduct rather than dogmatic enforcement of Christian doctrine or ‘values.” He even attempted to rewrite the New Testament to remove anything supernatural from the gospels in order to spotlight principles.
That of course is anathema to Christians.
Many evangelicals will note that in Proverbs and Deuteronomy that God rebukes those who add or take away from the Word of God. This would in fact make Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers a heretic. John Adams was a Congregationalist, and was against the evangelism movement. He wound up being a Unitarian. Alexander Hamilton was an agnostic and deist for most of his life.
The founding fathers established the Colonies in order to escape the grasp of the Tax man, Priests and Kings. They saw the Christian churches as counterfeit controllers who acted in the name of some God that they had no perception of. They saw Monarchies as corrupt governments trapped by the dogma of the churches.
Another example of how you can prove that the founding fathers were not creating this country exclusively for Christians is by looking at what they have left us. When they died none of their grave sites were marked with any Christian symbolism. There are no crosses or crucifixes marking the graves.
When Thomas Paine had died Christians denied him a proper burial because of his non Christian leanings. He was finally buried in New Rochelle New York and then his bones were moved to England. On his tombstone it reads “my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.”
George Washington is buried in Mt. Vernon between two obelisks. No Crosses or Christian symbolism adorns the grave site.
Even Thomas Jefferson is buried beneath an Obelisk. None of those grave sites show any Christian leanings. Much to the added evidence that the United state’s founding Fathers were not even close to thinking about Christianity when establishing the United States.
Truth is they weren’t thinking about Christ at all and to somehow magically believe that what was written by Jefferson was automatic writing from God himself is all part of civic religious mythos and turns America into a cult where supernatural powers held by our forefathers made them Gods as well.
This is dangerous for many reasons. If we deify our leaders even our forefathers and place them in the same categories as Gods for establishing the United States we can develop attitudes of overwhelming hubris and entitlement.
This is probably why we now have decided that it is our responsibility to go into Muslim countries and try to change their perceptions and instill in them “Christian Values” at the end of the barrel of a gun. This is why that in the beginning we were treated to alternating images of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. It created a demon or devil to hate and to condemn on behalf of the civic religious myth of this country being ruled with Christian values.
We have also seen the Christian sects scrambling for recognition of these values in Government because of dispensationalist leanings and “end of the world” prophecy that states that the government shall be placed on the shoulders of the coming messiah.
Was Jesus about dominion and control? Was he a man who used divisive methods to carry his message of peace? Did he demand that Rome place statues of him in the senate to declare his Godhood? If his example is to be placed as a guide for Christians then why is it that we are always in debate over whether this nation has to be Christian or nothing at all?
Pay close attention to the entrances to the Supreme Court Building. There are statues embedded at the top. Not one them is an apostle. Not one is Jesus. But we do see, Napoleon, Moses, and Muhammad. All of the characters that adorn the Supreme Court annex are known law givers. If this Country were founded on Christian laws, shouldn’t Jesus be the supreme figure – the figure that everyone should bow to?
He is nowhere to be seen.
Yet ask any Christian and they will tell you that there is a global conspiracy of atheists, Jews, Masons, and Militant Muslims ready to attack our country’s so called Christian values and thwart worldwide Christian privilege.
Privilege that had them petition that the coinage and the money of our nation bear the words “In God We Trust” instead of E. Pluribus Unum.
It was something that was done covertly and without a vote from the people.
Christian privilege seems to have its roots in pre-and post civil war America with the rise of Evangelical religious cults. On February 3, 1863, 11 denominations organized the National Reform Association. Their primary mission was to militantly enforce American Christian privilege and to amend the Constitution of the United States to “declare the nation’s allegiance to Jesus Christ,” to “indicate that this is a Christian nation,” and to “undeniably” put the “legal basis” of the land on “Christian laws, institutions and usages.” The Association formally petitioned Congress to amend the Preamble of the Constitution to read:
“We, the people of the United States, humbly acknowledging Almighty God as the source of all authority and power in civil government, the Lord Jesus Christ as the Ruler among the nations, His revealed will as the supreme law of the land, in order to constitute a Christian government, and in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to ourselves, our posterity, and all the people, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Fortunately, the “Christian amendment” never succeeded in obtaining either approval of Congress or any state. These Militant Christians continued their efforts into the late ’50s.
In 1954 the pledge of allegiance was changed because of this continued badgering by Christian Militants. In hysterical language of the day it was cited that one of the greatest differences between the free world and the Communists, is a belief in God. It was urged that the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag be altered to recognize god.
Many people to this day will deny this. That it always has been in the pledge.
However I have proof in the fact that when I was young I saw a cartoon featuring Porky Pig trying to learn the pledge. After trying to memorizing it and failing he has a meeting with Uncle Sam. The ghostly Uncle Sam gives a history lesson in the Voice of Charlton Heston. At the end Porky finally recites the pledge. He does not say ‘Under God.”
For the longest time I thought it was because Porky never did memorize the whole thing and that all was forgiven because he gave it his best. Then when I grew up and learned history I realized that the cartoon was done in the 1930’s.
It was with perceived privilege and prejudice that the neutral state of our Union leaned towards Christianity. Christianity was never meant to be the State religion, but secretly it has been encouraged and even our wars have been based or twisted to fit into agendas that are Christian based.
In the 1950’s McCarthyism reminded us that the Godless red menace at our door was out to destroy our Christian values. However not a word was given about the thousands of Nazis that were recruited to the CIA in order to enforce paranoia about the “godless communists” and solidify hatred for the Jews in America.
By the 1960s after The Korean conflict we shifted all of our Commie fear to Vietnam. Americans saw all communist insurgencies and revolutions as part of a global conspiracy designed to destroy the Christian way of life. This sentiment continued long enough to see more than three million Vietnamese slaughtered and 58,000 Americans dead. Not to mention the emotional and physical toll it took on those who survived.
It was the reverend Billy Graham who declared Communism as Satan’s religion in the 1940’s.
Doing so created a broad metaphor that everyone could understand. It was a very powerful message where to this day many Americans will tell you they hate Communism even though they do not know what it truly is. The echoes of such a social schism appear today as Barack Obama’s proposed socialist programs are manifesting themselves to old school commie haters as an attempt to create the Kingdom of the Antichrist. In fact many of the fears of Globalization are Christian based beliefs in the possibility of the United States striking up a cooperative with any nation that does not follow the tenets of Christianity.
Christian Privilege has always been the underlying motivation behind wars and the conjuring of an enemy that has allegedly sworn itself to destroying God’s Kingdom. When pondering the events of History during the era of the Cold war and Vietnam one has to wonder if the United States was engaged in a religious battle with a perceived satanic threat or a political battle against a philosophy that was the collectivist answer to capitalism.
Popular Christianity was the answer to Americanism. They walked hand in hand in the 1950’s and 1960s.
We perceived that Russia and China were countries that preached atheism, totalitarianism, and communism. We were told that people were leaving these countries to find the loving arms of the God loving Americans. That no nation on earth could compare with America because of its freedom and Christian attitudes. The question on all the minds of Americans was how could any country associate with a country that uses Satanism as its cornerstone of faith.
The American Christian Right used successful propaganda to literally mold the American people into believing that these countries had religious governments that enforced a belief in Baal. It was even taught in Sunday schools that one day future generations would be asked to relinquish their Christianity and American way of life for the utopian world of the Antichrist. It was said that if you died for god and country you would ascend into heaven to be at God’s side.
Christian spin also was able to enforce the lie that Hitler was never a Christian. While Hitler would dabble in the occult he was a soldier for Christ and was raised a Roman catholic. Even when he was Chancellor of Germany he would work directly with the Bishops of the Church and would have audience with the Pope. He would command his soldiers to pledge oaths to God and to Hitler’s own power.
Due to Hitler’s involvement with the Church he began enacting doctrines of the Church as law. He outlawed all abortion, raged a death war on all homosexuals and Jews, and demanded corporal punishment in schools and home. Many times Hitler addressed the church and promised that Germany would implement its teachings Hitler stated:
“The National Socialist State professes its allegiance to positive Christianity. It will be its honest endeavor to protect both the great Christian Confessions in their rights, to secure them from interference with their doctrines and in their duties to constitute a harmony with the views and the exigencies of the State of today.”
Hitler later made his own form of Christianity, much like Jefferson wrote his own bible. Hitler later believed that the God that should be followed is the God of nature and the Nordic traditions.
The argument against Hitler being Christian always gets caught up in the Holocaust issue. The idea that no good Christian could murder that many people. Well fundamentalist Christians coming to the Americas murdered American Indians and quite frankly beat Hitler in the numbers of Indians slaughtered compared to Jews.
According to Ward Churchill, a professor of ethnic studies at the University of Colorado, the reduction of the North American Indian population from an estimated 12 million in 1500 to barely 237,000 in 1900 represents a “vast genocide the most sustained on record.” By the end of the 19th century, Native Americans had undergone the “worst human holocaust the world had ever witnessed, roaring across two continents non-stop for four centuries and consuming the lives of countless tens of millions of people.
I give these numbers not as reason for you to feel guilty, but to understand that the mythology of the Government established on Christian principles is a dangerous myth. It is a forfeiture of history and creates a religious nationalism that is unhealthy and creates an environment that is similar to the governments imposed by Jihadists.
We now see history repeat itself and using the term Jihadist creates a broad metaphor that is not new. It is merely re-identified as the enemy of Christian privilege.
A “global war on terror” has now replaced the global war on communism as the paradigm shaping American foreign policy. Communism which was once the Government of Satan has now been replaced by Islam. This type of reimaging has done nothing to help us understand why there are grievances and division in Islam. The Christian militants mistakenly paint all Muslims as Anti-Christian and secretly Anti- American.
This type of war is seen as a crusade by Muslims because of the religious rhetoric that was being pronounced by George W. Bush during the early days of the war. Bush declared that it was a war against “evil doers,” phraseology that can be leveled to the third grade Sunday school mentality. Good and evil were biblical principles, folksy religious euphemisms aimed at the Christians who believed their lives were threatened after the Attacks of September 11th, 2001.
The war was never meant to be won, much like the Christian war on sin and the punishment for the wicked. Dick Cheney said himself in the first day of the war that “ it was going to be a struggle that the United States is going to be involved in for the foreseeable future,” he said. “There’s not going to be an end date when we’re going to say, ‘There, it’s all over with.’ It’s going to require constant vigilance on our part to avoid problems in the future, but it’s also going to require a major effort and obviously quite possibly the use of military force.
Bush then added that “this crusade, this war on terrorism is goanna take awhile. And the American people must be patient. I’m goanna be patient,” Bush had claimed that his armies were going to go in as liberators. However the Muslims saw it as an imperialist maneuver meant to humiliate Arabs.
Some Christian soldiers saw it as an opportunity to convert the “heathen” to Christ. The decision to continue this war has been the most irresponsible decision ever. The purpose is no longer liberation. The purpose seems to point to slaughter and occupation. Six days after the attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001 Syndicated columnist Anne Coulter immediately threw blame out to the Middle east before any real evidence was given that Iraqi or even Afghani terrorists were involved. In her September 17th Column Coulter wrote:
“This is no time to be precious about locating the exact individuals directly involved in this particular terrorist attack. Those responsible include anyone anywhere who smile in response [to the attack].We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet bombed German cities. We killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.”
Anne Coulter believes she is winning over Christians with her smirk and ad hominem but what is being bred in the hearts of vengeful Christian Militants is a pathological mind set where it is great sport to dehumanize all things for the sake of the whole. This is not Christian value even for the sake of the so called Christian privileged.
I was always taught that at the heart of Christian belief is the idea that all people no matter how evil you perceive them to be are made in the image of God. Jesus said to pray for your enemies, not kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.
I guess it comes as no surprise that no sooner had American soldiers entered Iraq reports began pouring in of American evangelical groups rushing to the country to dole out food and Bibles to starving Iraqis. The presence of American soldiers provided the Militant Christian right what they saw as a God-sent opportunity of preaching Christianity among the Muslims of the country.
Many Americans that lean Christian this may come as a victory.
I see it as an embarrassment and an endorsement of American Imperialism. To some Americans the Christian Privilege is so worth killing for and dying for that one forgets what happens when power is abused and what it always leads to.
It leads to a loss of morality. When Lord Acton made the statement in the 1800’s about how absolute power corrupts absolutely he was addressing the powers that corrupt themselves in religion. Acton was a religious man who questioned the abuses of power in his own church.
I know that many people will read what I have now written and claim that it is an un-American rant written to stir up a storm during Independence Day. I have expressed these attitudes long before the attacks of September 11th, knowing full well that the whole imperial support of America through American cultism is dangerous and will lead to the overall acceptance of the very New World Order that the Christian right say they are fighting against.
I warned of our Armies being used to fight for the cause of the New Order as it is disguised as an imperialistic Christian stronghold developed for the benefit and progress of the righteous and those who believe in American manifest destiny.
I have demonstrated before that none of these myths can successfully white wash the truth of corruption within the so called hallowed walls of church and state.
Both are being combined as one and being touted as revelation fulfilled in a time known as the last days by the faithful. However it is only an illusion. The New order will be and is Luciferian in nature. Luciferian ideologies are based in the idea of asymmetry. With an imbalance comes balance and with chaos comes order. It is necessary to keep this constant disruption in order to give the illusion of a continuous “war.” Christians hungry for dominion have bought into the Luciferian ideal.
Luciferianism is not Satanism but a philosophy that can be had within Christianity and other religions. The idea that Lucifer rules the world is a cornerstone in many Gnostic beliefs. Many of these doctrines and beliefs are secretly held by those in Government and religion.
Saul Alinksy was a mentor to Barack Obama. He is the author of the book “Rules for Radicals.” The book has inspired many politicians. Obama has also cited it as an inspiration to his presidency. Alinksy dedicated his book to Lucifer. Rather odd for Barack Obama’s mentor to be dedicating his work to the fallen one.
Recently Sarah Palin was being chided for a comment she made about Ronald Regan. These flubs and smears take away from her beliefs about the Military Industrial complex and its relationship with Christian privilege. Palin believes that the dominance of the military industrial complex is “God’s will” probably because she thinks that Military is here to serve Christians and protect them from evil.
In 1992, after the Riots in Los Angeles a training exercise called Police 2000 was held in Alaska where police teams and special units from around the world gathered to learn how to handle and subdue Americans in the event of a financial meltdown, terrorist attack, bio warfare attack, or natural disaster. The world military teams attended because they were instructed to shoot Americans if the need arose.
Barack Obama wants a domestic “security force” as powerful as the U.S. military. Some have commented that it would be like the Public Stasi or Nazi Youth. Barack Obama supports the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act.
It was enacted in order to crackdown on dissident activity under the guise of fighting terrorism. You could be arrested for adapting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically-based violence to advance political, religious, or social change. This includes but is not limited to radical Right wing Christians.
The Department of Homeland Security is now employing the cast of Sesame Street and other Children’s programming to indoctrinate America’s littlest citizens in the nuances of societal distrust and paranoia. They will incorporate safety tips and encouraging the “telling” on parents if the child feels that grown-ups are doing something suspicious.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is now training Pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for the implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination programs and forced relocation. The pastors have been asked to use the scripture from Romans 13 that implies that following government law is following God’s law.
Funny, that is the same scripture Hitler used to get faithful Christian Nazis to take advantage of their Christian Privilege. History has shown that the enforcement of Christian privilege with the aid of an army always leads to war and the deaths of innocent people.
The Independence Day we celebrate has nothing to do Christianity or any of the wars that are fought for the preservation of Privilege. Independence Day is celebrated and should be seen as a day of both reverence and festival. It should be a time to reflect on what the founding fathers actually wanted for this country.
It has nothing to with God, or Christianity, these things are kept sacred as we are given the freedom to worship what or however we like. It should also be made clear that this Independence Day has nothing to do with the war we are fighting now. This Independence Day is about the struggle for all men to live lives without the requirement to fight needless wars to insure imperialistic privilege. This Independence Day there should be a reflection on the spirit of the founding fathers and their attempt to create a country that sees people as equal under the law.
This Independence Day is a time to ask ourselves if we truly are all that altruistic when we muscle our way into other countries and claim we are there as liberators. We need to engage in civil honesty about the furthering of self interest as opposed to leaving well enough alone.
We now are in need of evaluating the purpose of the United States and whether or not we are united in our cause for global rule and new world order. Americans seem to only be comfortable with the title of Superpower even when it seems that the title is slowly fading away into history. Unilateral leadership will not be held by any American President, or entity.
The conspiracy to form the United States has now spiraled into a globalist cooperative that will eventually be forced to provide the world with money in order to establish restitution for the damage that they have done and the imperialistic wars and crimes they have committed. The hidden agendas of Christian Privilege have mislead public rationales that have given way to the support of civil rights violations the use of weapons of mass destruction and the carrying out of genocide.
The war we are in now does not deserve any reverence. It deserves intervention. It was a self inflicted wound to the spirit of our Independence and our reputation as a country. If we can not allow ourselves to admit failure then more self inflicted wounds will eventually kill off all that we have died and fought for.
As we mark time and events with a Christian view we can only worry that the future will be full of assumptions and dialogue pertaining to apocalyptic fantasies. As in the past we can see that the true value and agenda of militant Christianity is to devalue the cultural contributions of others.
Their dogmas make others feel like their contributions are not of any value and so it forces an attitude of division.
Recently it was reported that a coalition of atheists and secular humanists placed billboards on Billy Graham Parkway in North Carolina that shows the American flag with the words “One nation Indivisible” printed on it. The Billboards were later defaced with the words UNDER GOD spray painted on them.
It is apparent that some one saw the billboard as a threat. I would assume that the person who defaced the billboard is unaware that the pledge of allegiance didn’t always include the phrase “under god.”
There was also a story where a gay rights group in Indianapolis took out a Billboard campaign showing parts of the bible that may be interpreted as being gay friendly. The billboards were quickly defaced with the words LIE scrawled all over them.
Is it truly liberty and freedom to create a cultural enforcement of Christianity in a country that has the constitutional rights of free speech, religion and expression?
Not to mention those who live in fear of violence or reappraisal for being different in this country. We are facing an immigration crisis in the United States. While it is fair to demand that illegal aliens be removed from this country, it is unfair to single out one group of illegals because of their culture or skin color. We have seen an increase of fear and hatred of anything that appears to be foreign in this country. The imperialist American may not know who is illegal and who isn’t but he can make assumptions based on skin color and ethnicity.
Since September 11, 2001, we have seen a growing number of violent crimes directed against Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, and Jews in this country. Many Americans are unaware that hundreds of Muslims were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center. There were many more Jews that died there as well. However after the dust had cleared and Ground Zero had cooled a curious thing happened. There was left for all to see two girders that formed a rough looking cross in the rubble.
The cross was moved and put on a pedestal in honor of those who died in the attacks. The Ground zero Cross will also be placed in the memorial representing ALL of the victims of the World Trade Center. The Cross has been blessed and dedicated on behalf of the dead. It has been regarded as a sign of comfort for all who has lost someone in the attacks.
I guess I don’t have to explain how sad and disrespectful this is to the Jews, Muslims and atheists that died that day. But according to the Christians God spoke on behalf of everyone by placing a replica of the very device that was used to murder his son at the World Trade Center.
I guess I don’t have to point out the idolatry that somehow is excused because of emotional projections on two pieces of steel creating a “universally recognized” symbol of Christianity.
We as a people need to realize that we are the most religiously diverse and ethnically diverse peoples in the world. We live in a country of spiritual plurality, and cultural plurality. It was encouraged to be that way from the beginning. Our founding fathers knew that we would be the gem for the entire world to envy.
They knew that people would come from other countries, with other cultures and religious beliefs. They knew it would be challenging and they saw it as a unique opportunity to be an example of peace and tranquility offering all creeds and colors a chance to be free.
Our Independence does not mean we become isolated. Our independence should also foster inclusiveness where every American regardless of religion, belief or cultural difference begins to write a new chapter of history where we demand that we never be subjected to terror, injustice, poverty, lawlessness or fear by those that govern us.
