KICKING IN HEAVEN’S DOOR

One of the films I neglected to see a while back was the film, Passengers. It is a film that is actually two movies in one. At first you think it is like Castaway in space, as the main character, Jim, played by Chris Pratt, finds himself alone on a space cruise because he is awakened when a hibernation chamber he is in malfunctions, He finds out that his journey still has another 90 years before he arrives at a new planet called, Homestead II.
He spends a year alone, with a robot bartender named, Arthur. It is a sympathetic Artificial Intelligence robot that makes conversation but for the lonely space mechanic, Jim, it isn’t enough to satiate his needs. So, he awakens a female passenger, Aurora, played by Jennifer Lawrence.
It then becomes similar to Space Titanic as the ship appears to be doomed and then there is a love story and a revelation that would be a spoiler if I would reveal it.
But I am not going to reveal anything about the film only that when I watched it, I couldn’t help but remember what Stephen Hawking had said about how mankind has only 1000 years left and so we had better prepare to find a way to blast off of this rock and plan for a breakaway civilization to begin colonizing one of the nearby planets that may be able to sustain life.
Of course nearby is relative since most of these livable planets are many light years from our reach.
Last year, it was announced that Proxima B was discovered orbiting around a dwarf star Proxima Centauri. The entire surface of Proxima B may be covered in a liquid ocean, according to a new study.
While there is still much to learn about the solar system’s newfound neighbor, previous research found that Proxima B has two key features in common with Earth: it orbits within the habitable zone of its star, meaning it could have the right surface temperature to allow for the presence of liquid water— and it has a mass 1.3 times that of Earth.
Using this information, a team led by researchers at the Marseille Astrophysics Laboratory in France, developed different models to help discover what the conditions might be like on the rocky exoplanet.
Many of these conditions could make this another Goldilocks planet capable of sustaining life.
I was once spoke at a bookstore in Olympia, Washington about the concept of “Breakaway Civilization” and whether or not I would buy a ticket to go if it meant surviving the proposed cataclysm that science says is happening due to climate change.
First, I commented that what the climate change fear mongers forget to mention is that the Earth is complex system and that I have faith that like any climate scientist will tell you, the Earth’s pendulum will swing back to being cooler instead of warmer and second I said no, I don’t think I would like to leave a planet where I was raised. The future of settling or colonizing a planet would have to fall on several generations that have been raised either on the moon or somewhere similar where they would be used to being at home in space.
I know that looking around, it may be uncomfortable to realize that our concepts of where humanity is going are changing. The present seems to have the appearance of the dark future that we have read about in the bible or heard from some deranged soothsayer.
In the past, we wrote about our visions of the future. That future is now our present. And in this present, we crave those visions of the future that were written about in the past.
Prophets, seers and science fiction writers have warned us about irrational decisions and how they can erode away some of the foundation of common sense. There were others that wrote novels and told stories of hope and civilizations that shared a common goal of sustaining life and seeking out that life in other distant realms of the universe.
It may all just sound like some Star Trek pipe dream but we have arguably wasted a little more than 50 years remaining on Earth, when we have been told that we should be focusing on our future and our children’s futures in space.
I remember when I was a kid and saw the moon landing. Everyone was excited and my father had his doubts about it even happening. However, he said that he could see a future where I would be living on a space station or even the moon. Well, that was in 1969 when I was just 5 years old.
I am in my 50’s now my father has passed away, and the future my father saw and experienced was not as wild as what the writers had envisioned.
However, it is now starting because the chance of a cataclysm is so great in the eyes of the catastrophists that the warnings are now being heeded and we have been hearing rumors that a new space race is on.
But, the United States appears to have not committed to the idea that in order for a civilization to survive we must learn to migrate to other planets.
Physicist Stephen Hawking said that he believes that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers. He says that the human race has no future if it doesn’t go to space.
However, it appears that there needs to be a private enterprise that can provide the money for the kind of space travel that is needed to go to another planet.
In Robert Heinlein’s classic science fiction novel, Time for the Stars, there is a non-profit outfit in the future known as the Long Range Foundation which becomes colossally rich by investing in long-term but high-payoff projects such as weather control.
It then uses its vast revenues into building relativistic “torch ships” able to travel to nearby stars at close to the speed of light the journeys thus take decades from the point of view of people remaining on Earth, but time is compressed aboard the ships and the crews age by only a few years.
The ships not only carry the first human explorers to other star systems, but accidentally discover new physics permitting the development of proper faster-than-light starships: these overhaul the torch ships and so they can bring their crews home at last.
The only promising US government-spawned Long Range Foundation doppelganger project has been dubbed “100 Year Starship”, referring to the notional time it might take to get the first interstellar mission underway. The organization is expected to swiftly become “wholly devoid of government subsidy or control”, but until that happens it is being run by DARPA and NASA’s famous Ames campus in Silicon Valley.
We are being told that the “100 Year Starship” and “100YSS” are property of the United States, trademark applications pending at the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Yesterday, Boeing unveiled the advanced new lightweight spacesuits that astronauts will sport as passengers aboard the company’s CST-100 Starliner space taxi during commercial taxi journey’s to and from and the International Space Station and other low Earth orbit destinations.
The suits protect the astronauts during both launch and reentry into the Earth’s atmosphere during the return home.
Today NASA began poring over some of the preliminary data from their twin-study, which looked at the genetic differences between astronaut Scott Kelly who lived aboard the International Space Station for a year, and his identical twin Mark also an astronaut, who didn’t. It is still very early days, but the results are already throwing up some surprises including large changes in gene expression and longer-than-expected telomeres.
The motive for NASA’s unprecedented twin study is to investigate the impacts of space travel on the human body. ISS veteran Scott Kelly, who already had 180 days aboard the orbiting laboratory, spent another 340 days there across 2015 and 2016. This brought his lifetime total to 520 days in space before he returned on March 1, with a Space X Dragon capsule delivering critical research samples a couple of months later.
As identical twins, the brothers are genetically very similar. However, researchers found that while he was in orbit, Scott’s telomeres — the caps on the ends of chromosomes grew longer than his twin brother’s. Though Scott’s telomeres returned to their pre-flight lengths shortly after he returned to Earth, these results were totally unexpected, since telomeres naturally shrink over the course of one’s life, and the stresses of spaceflight are supposed to accelerate this. At least, that was the idea.
It was the opposite of what NASA thought would happen.
John Charles, Chief Scientist at NASA’s Human Research Program, said scientists are interested in telomere length during space travel because their erosion could cause health defects during long-term missions. It is critical to understand these potential health risks before sending astronauts on long voyages, such as one to Mars.
Lengthening telomeres extends life expectancy.
Another interesting finding apart from the DNA marvels of the cosmic twins there is also a new report that is indicating that the earth may be seeding the moon with byproducts of life. Oxygen from Earth’s atmosphere may be traveling all the way to the Moon’s surface.
New research shows that oxygen from Earth could be journeying all the way out to the Moon, where it then gets lodged inside the lunar soil. It’s a process that’s likely been happening for 2.4 billion years, ever since oxygen formed around our planet, meaning the Moon’s soil may contain trapped particles from Earth’s ancient atmosphere.
This tail shields the Moon from the solar wind, and allows charged oxygen ions from Earth to travel to the lunar surface, according to the study.
That means the Moon, a dead rock incapable of supporting life, is being showered with the byproducts of life here on Earth. In fact, the source of most of the oxygen in our atmosphere is biological, created by plants during photosynthesis.
It’s a process that experts have suspected for a while but haven’t been able to confirm until now. Once again this is one more revelation that I believe can be seen as evidence toward the confirmation of extra-terrestrial life.
New York University Professor and space development author William Burrows believes that it is imperative that we plan new missions to the moon and that we create a settlement there in order to “maximize the chances of our species’ survival in an abidingly dangerous world.”
Burrows also proposes something known as the “Alliance to Rescue Civilization” or ARC. The idea is to continuously copy Earth’s overall civilization and nature – most or all of what we are, and send it elsewhere for safekeeping. It is as if we were backing up the earth’s hard drive, saving and updating the entire history, politics, science, technology, art and literature of all nations and societies.
The idea would be to privately fund a library and laboratory in a space station located on the moon. It would be close enough to access if there was a global emergency, but far enough away from the earth to keep our civilization’s backup intact and isolated from any global calamity.
The European Space Agency has also proposed and has drawn up plans build a “a place of contemplation” or a Lunar temple to be used by lunar settlers.
Jorge Mañes Rubio, artist in residence at the space agency’s “future-oriented” team, has drawn up plans for a temple on the sunlit edge of Shackleton Crater, a spot that’s generally bathed in sunlight but overlooks looks a 4.2 kilometer-deep abyss that’s “mired in perpetual shadow.”
The temple has been designed to look like the world famous Dome of the Rock at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem.
Some are asking if this could be the Temple of the Moon child spoken of in prophecy.
The great secret held by the elite is in the utterance of God the Divine, God the Adversary and God as the One Divine Adversary. This also indicates the secret that God has duality like his human creation. We must find balance in our duality. But as humans, we become marked and beastly. More profane than divine. We are told that the mark prepared for us is the mark of the beast however there is n even deeper mark that perverts and reconfigures the human shell of the soul and that is the profane Qliphoth. It represents the evil twin, the doppelganger, the Moonchild.
Now, think about the implications of NASA’S “Twin” DNA experiments.
Is this a metaphor for the new man – the transhuman Moonchild or Homunculus?
There have been many attempts to create the Moonchild, The Moonchild is considered a perversion to God and some even call the Moonchild the antichrist. The Moonchild rituals are the rituals to demonize a fetus.
Jack Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard attempted to bring the Moonchild into the world in a Satanic ritual known as the Babylon Working. Parsons was a rocket scientist and one of the founders of JPL. He died in a 1952 lab accident. In his posthumous honor The U.S. government named a mountain on the moon after him. The question is who in the world would be capable of appreciating a memorial called, Parson’s Peak.
The idea of the Moonchild is that with the practice of black magic, a perfected soul can be captured. Aleister Crowley wrote the book “Moonchild” and among the dark passages we read:
“To produce a man who should not be bound up in his heredity, and should have the environment which they desired for him.”
L. Ron Hubbard went on to create Scientology. Hubbard is also a science fiction writer that claimed during the Babylon Working ritual, something “alien” came through a wormhole during the ritual. He also wrote a book called, Battlefield Earth, a book that deals with a race of aliens that come down to conquer Earth.
We all are concerned with the improprieties of science, producing the physical transhumanist Frankenstein, however beyond biology there are magicians who are more than capable of transferring a spirit or soul into the body of a fetus creating a Homunculus.
This is the true nature of playing God and violating the natural laws. We tend to think that the body is the sacred temple that should not be tampered with, however it is the cognitive liberty and holding the soul captive. This is far more profane and has resulted in the possession of many human forms.
In the future it seems that our fight for survival and renewal will be forever shrouded in fear and ignorance. Fresh courage is needed in our brave new world to dodge the obstacles of chaos and despair. We must find a way to preserve our lives. We must cherish our unique place in the universe and realize the treasure that is our human existence.
It is time for the world to awaken and begin to rely on personal revelation and preparation. We must all realize that we are visitors on this planet and that the planet is like a pebble in a turbulent ocean that may rock at any moment, creating a chain of cataclysmic events that could wipe us out without a trace.
For the first time in human history, we can move beyond the confines of Earth, its life spreading to the rest of the universe, beginning a new evolution.
Is life limited to the earth after all, or can it indeed move beyond its home planet?
We now have the technology to create whole ecologies and engineer their inhabitants. We can take the steps necessary to continue that evolution in extraterrestrial environments.
We must act cautiously and with wisdom.
We must provide everything necessary for a wide range of organisms to reproduce in space. We must also engineer artificial ecosystems that will best facilitate this reproduction. Then, observing our results, we will find answers to questions about life on Earth and in the universe beyond.
Otherwise, the act of knocking on heaven’s door would be more like kicking in heaven’s door.
