6/29/17: UNDER THE ALIEN SKIN

UNDER THE ALIEN SKIN

The existence of rational, sentient beings on a planet other than Earth is no longer a fantastic, remote possibility conjectured by imaginative and unrealistic minds. It is declared not a possibility but a probability by an ever-growing chorus of distinguished astronomers and eminent scientists in all fields. Already, there has been established a new science – “exobiology,” the study of forms of extraterrestrial life.

Many scientists believe we are not alone in the universe. It’s probable, they say, that life could have arisen on at least some of the billions of planets thought to exist in our galaxy alone — just as it did here on planet Earth. This basic question about our place in the Universe is one that may be answered by scientific investigations. What are the next steps to finding life elsewhere?

On March 21 of this year, both parties in Congress and the Trump administration made a change to a federal document that amounted to only a few words, but which may well change the course of human history.

Every few years, Congress and the administration pass a NASA Authorization Act, which gives the U.S. Space Agency its marching orders for the next few years. Among the many pages of the 2017 NASA Authorization Act (S. 422) the agency’s mission encompasses expected items such as continuation of the space station, building of big rockets, indemnification of launch and reentry service providers for third party claim and so on.

But in this year’s bill, Congress added a momentous phrase to the agency’s mission: ‘the search for life’s origins, evolution, distribution, and future in the universe.’ It’s a short phrase, but a visionary one, setting the stage for a far-reaching effort, which could have as profound an impact on the 21st century as the Apollo program had on the 20th.

The law itself states, The administrator shall enter into an arrangement with the National Academies to develop a science strategy for astrobiology that would outline key scientific questions, identify the most promising research in the field, and indicate the extent to which the mission priorities in existing decadal surveys address the search for life’s origin, evolution, distribution, and future in the universe.

Almost all descriptions of the current attempts to discover such extraterrestrial life are accompanied by exhortations about the profound implications for humanity’s view of the universe and the need for theologians and philosophers to re-examine their doctrines.

When the existence of life elsewhere is established, and especially if some contact is made with intelligent beings elsewhere, we will be confronted by as much of a challenge to our established way of thought. It can be compared to the Copernican revolution which displaced the earth from the center of the universe and set in motion a religious and philosophical upheaval at the time.

A story that recently read in The Atlantic reports that NASA has been putting in place all the necessary building blocks to make the Search for Life possible. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), due to launch in late 2018, will begin following up on recently discovered exoplanets, searching for ‘the fingerprints of life,’ gases that scientists believe can only exist in the presence of living organisms.

NASA and private industry have embarked on ambitious new rockets capable of carrying probes and landers to Jupiter’s Moon Europa and launching future telescopes capable of finding and characterizing continents and oceans on Earth-like planets. Soon, they will be able to send (human) geologists and biologists to Mars.

At least the marching orders are a change from what ex-President Barack Obama wanted from NASA.

We observe life around us including ourselves using the Scientific Method. Using the Scientific Method we are able to document the surface of some of the complexity of life. Because of the absolute complexity of life, we are now learning that some scientists have found a numeric signature on our genetic code which would indicate that we were designed by an intelligent engineer or a vastly superior alien life form that we call God.

The vastness of astronomical distances, although not measured in terms of light-years, was also known before modern times. In the Bible, the expression for a very large number is “like the sand on the seashore” or “like the stars of the heavens.”

The modern theorizing about extraterrestrial life is based upon one assumption, which is the natural evolution of life from inert organic chemicals.

Religion appears to answer the question about who arranged or organized these chemicals.

However, not everyone believes in God, and then there are also people who see the alien question as a form of cosmic blasphemy and deception. There is also the theory that the Universe itself may be capable of having consciousness.

This concept is called “panpsychism.”

For centuries, modern science has been shrinking the gap between humans and the rest of the universe, from Isaac Newton showing that one set of laws applies equally to falling apples and orbiting moons to Carl Sagan intoning that “we are made of star stuff” that the atoms of our bodies were literally forged in the nuclear furnaces of other stars.

The stories may change, interpretation of human creation varies in different histories, but the idea that we are all aliens under the skin is becoming more accepted.

There are scientists that have argued that life originated on Mars, due to a mineral found in Martian meteorites, thought to be crucial to the genesis of life. This is fascinating especially when you analyze word origins that exist in the biblical account of the creation.

The Hebrew name for man is pronounced aw-dawm. The name Adam came from that and is also related to the Hebrew o aw-dawm-ah, which means man of red clay or red earth. According to the Old Testament, a group of gods planted a garden eastward in Eden and a man made from red clay was created to tend the garden that was seeded by these Gods.

Despite the easy assumption that the Bible supports the idea of the primacy of man, it is not at all that certain. As a matter of fact, we find no sure judgments, only inclinations – and these can be made to support both opposing hypothesis , that of man’s centrality and that of his non-uniqueness.

There have been authors who have written that the entire creation was the aftermath of an exodus from Mars or some other planet and that the way the Earth was seeded with life is through a bombardment of comets and meteors that carried the building blocks for life. These celestial bodies were actually launched from this unknown planet for Earth.

This can be a part of some science fiction or comic book philosophy; however, we are beginning to see in the 21st century activity from space that may confirm that the creation process is ongoing and that it didn’t stop with the stories of Genesis.

There are other theories advanced about the origin of life like the “panspermia hypothesis” in which life originated on earth through the migration of spores to earth from some other planet.

While I see this theory as the halfway point between intelligent design and scientific evolution – there has to be a puzzle piece missing in general consensus about how these spores and building blocks were fused together and whether or not human creation has a little help in its growth and evolution.

There are questions that lead us to a legendary, powerful body of entities that have become known as the Anunnaki. They are also questions that take us to the heart of ancient Sumerian cultures, which can be found in what, today, is southern Iraq, and which, historians and archaeologists believe, was first settled at some point between 5,500 and 4,000 BC.

According to Sumerian lore, more than 400,000 years before a huge deluge devastated the Earth and killed untold millions; this mighty race of legendary people came to our planet from the heavens above. During their time here, they brought some form of stability, and even society, to what were, originally, extremely primitive human tribes, some of which ultimately became the Cro-Magnons. That was not, however, the original agenda of the Anunnaki.

The primary goal of the Anunnaki was to genetically alter primitive humans to create a robust and strong entity that, effectively, amounted to nothing less than a slave race, one designed to do the bidding of their extraterrestrial masters – including mining the Earth for its supply of precious and priceless gold. When the Anunnaki finally left the Earth, they left behind them an astonishing legacy – humans in their image – after their likeness.

American ecologist Dr. Ellis Silver offers arguments, based on human physiology, that humans as species may not have evolved alongside other life on Earth – but arrived from elsewhere, brought here by aliens as recently as a few tens of thousands of years ago.

In a new book, he claims there is plenty of evidence to prove his theory.

When speaking to Yahoo News, he postulated that the Earth approximately meets our needs as a species, but perhaps not as strongly as whoever brought us here initially thought, he continues to say that Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth’s environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more.”

Dr. Ellis says that humans might suffer from bad backs because they evolved on a world with lower gravity. He also says that it is strange that babies’ heads are so large and make it difficult for women to give birth, which can result in fatalities of the mother and infant.

“No other truly native species on this planet has this problem,” he says. Silver also points out to the “extra” 223 genes in human beings, which are not found in any other species, and to the lack of a fossil “missing link”.

“Lizards can sunbathe for as long as they like – and many of them do. We can just about get away with it for a week or two. But day after day in the sun? Forget it. You might as well just lie down on the freeway and wait for a bus to hit you.” We are dazzled by the sun, which is also odd, says Silver – most animals are not.

“We are all chronically ill,” says Silver.

“Indeed, if you can find a single person who is 100% fit and healthy and not suffering from some (perhaps hidden or unstated) condition or disorder (there’s an extensive list in the book) I would be extremely surprised – I have not been able to find anyone.” Silver continues.

It is quite possible that Homo sapiens on this planet and other equivalent races elsewhere represent the interpenetration of the natural and the supernatural. Whether the idea of “the divine Image” is interpreted rationally as intelligence, or anatomically, there is nothing really in biblical doctrine and history that insists upon man’s singularity.

In fact, scripture passages in Genesis and in the Book of Enoch suggest that man has been always in contact with engineers, teachers and guides that come down from the sky.

If the image of the Absolute One God can be impressed upon the assorted individuals within the human race, it can be similarly bestowed upon a multitude of races that will eventually be found in outer space.
