9/11: THE TIRING SATURATION
OF A FALSE NARRATIVE
OF A FALSE NARRATIVE
Today I posted on my Facebook page that I was tired of always being told to remember the events of 9/11. I have wanted to heal since that day. It goes without saying that we as Americans experienced loss. I experienced my own personal loss as well; however, this is not about me or my pain. I know that there is pain and with pain we have to grow and I worry that the media barrage is making it an exercise in war propaganda and grow tired of the narrative that has been constantly reinforced on this day.
"I am tired of remembering 911 -- It took four years to get over Pearl Harbor. Why are we so religiously mesmerized by an event that signified the loss of American strength against foes both foreign and domestic? It is time to humbly move forward -- remember but do not obsess."
The reaction to my statement was mixed; however, the angry responses were unfortunate and I felt as though I was misunderstood as countless statements were about how I was heartless and pathetic. I was also being told that I was un-American and that I was telling people to forget and “get over it.” That was not what I was saying.
I was only stating that I just couldn’t handle that ham-fisted remembrance ploys as if the memory will go away any time soon. The pain is relived every year. The loss of a friend, a business partner, the call from a girlfriend who decided it was time to break up so she could be with her family, a neighbor whose father died that day and another neighbor who lost her baby when the towers fell.
Yes, all of these things come up to meet me every time I am told to remember and I become agitated and bitter and want to just scream. I want to cry out and say hear me, understand me, don’t abandon me or write me off. All of those feeling rush in like flood and the gates can’t hold back the tears, the anger and the disgust.
To add to all of these feelings come the ridicule and the accusatory attitudes when someone decided to not bow their head in silence, but scream out that you will no longer bow down, you will no longer remain silent because silence is acceptance.
Silence is accepting that you go along with the decisions that were made after the attacks of September 11th, 2001.
I want to make myself clear: I am not asking anyone to “get over” the event. I am not asking you to forget the event. I am not asking you to minimize the deaths of the over 3000 that perished. I am hoping that we can demand a narrative of the event that doesn’t leave us asking questions and leaves us with the frustration of knowing that no one benefited that day. No one except the National security infrastructure and the military industrial complex.
No one benefited except the war hawks, the politicians and the contractors hired to rebuild after the catastrophe.
We as citizens are still hurting and every year when we think our wounds are healed the media comes along and picks at the scab and then comes the infection all over again.
I remember years ago reading that 84 percent of the American people feel as though we have not been told everything about the attacks of 9/11 and there has never been an event so sacred in American history as that dreadful day.
There is no reason to forget. Perhaps there is no reason to forgive, I am only saying that we can’t let the event cloud what happened to our country and how it was the catalyst that opened the dialogue for the socialist state and the complete and utter negation of constitutional rights.
We were convinced of the necessity of big government making big decisions that were unpopular and uncomfortable and we are now in a very frightening time in our history where the shadow of what happened looms forever as a political football in the hands of endgame strategists that will do anything to keep us in a state of flux.
When we are terrified or confused we forget what is happening in real time. We hide and we flee. We ignore details and in some moments accept cherished myths that take the sting away from the reality that we have always been vulnerable.
When you ask people to revisit the events of 9/11 and reconsider what really happened, you enter the twilight zone of public mythology where people don't want to rethink unhappy events and where you challenge their personal egos. If you eliminate the emotional baggage and the constant bombardment of the false narrative you may be able to see the truth. Images begin to re-emerge and forgotten information comes back.
All of this we see being reported in the mainstream now, all of what awaits us could have been prevented if we were just able to see through the programming years before the event. If we are to look back in History we can see that there seems to be a paper trail of intent, a money trail of crime and denial of people that want to hold on to an ideal that died the day the towers fell.
Manifestos of intent on a government coup and mythologies were drawn up because our leaders thought that one day we can all look back and praise them like heroes or gods. For them, a new militarized fortress was the goal but the American people would not stand for it.
As Wikipedia notes: "In September 2000, the PNAC published a controversial 90-page report entitled Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources For a New Century. The report, which lists as Project Chairmen Donald Kagan and Gary Schmitt and as Principal Authors. Thomas Donnelly, quotes from the PNAC's June 1997 "Statement of Principles" and proceeds "from the belief that America should seek to preserve and extend its position of global leadership by maintaining the preeminence of U.S. military forces.""
This included the increase in spending for national defense. The writers of this document knew that the transformation of America into a military leviathan would be a hard sell. They believed that it would take years to convince the people that it was necessary. However, they did say that perhaps a catalyzing event like an attack on American soil would be the very thing needed to get the ball rolling.
"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor." – PNAC Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources for a New Century
As the names of the dead are read on 9/11 every year, I want to expose the names of those who signed their names to the PNAC document of intent – the document that raised the challenge of bringing America to the status of war state. The document that told us that what was needed was a new Pearl Harbor in order for it to begin.
Here now are those names and we should never forget them: Elliott Abrams, Gary Bauer, William J. Bennett, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Eliot A. Cohen, Midge Decter, Paula Dobriansky, Steve Forbes, Aaron Friedberg, Francis Fukuyama, Frank Gaffney, Fred C. Ikle, Donald Kagan, Zalmay Khalilzad, Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Norman Podhoretz, Dan Quayle, Peter W. Rodman, Stephen P. Rosen, Henry S. Rowen, Donald Rumsfeld, Vin Weber, George Weigel and Paul Wolfowitz.
These names represent the spinners of myth and the so-called idealists that wished to bring America into the new millennium with the thunderous explosions of war and devastation. Many of these strategists believed that they would one day be praised for their actions, that the people would see them as heroes.
The attempts at spinning the new political mythologies had failed. We didn’t see our leaders as saviors after 9/11. The new political mythology with Obama is also failing. He can no longer be a savior when a country is too wounded to save itself. This has not stopped him from getting the Nobel Peace Prize for a war he did not end and a new war he is trying to sell us now using the same tactics that were used before. The attacks of 9/11 have been shown to be an effective distraction and tool to generate political and patriotic license for war and the curtailing of civil rights in the United states.
It is now evident that Barack Obama is part of this “war status quo” and within the parameters of this convoluted open ended war is designing a more obvious Orwellian version of the perpetual war or the "long war" if you prefer for the public.
The non-partisan alarms that were raised to many of the political crimes of the past administrations was precisely out of concern for what is coming to pass: not only were they contrary to the system of government - checks and balances, and civil liberties and freedoms that the American system was based on - they were also the beachhead for a radically different status quo.
A war on terror, if it can be won, must be fought by people who are treated like criminals. The masterminds of the perpetual war have to be bigger monsters against the little monsters who sometimes strike without warning. We are about to breed victims who resent the treatment of their own governments. If you really want to know the future you can read the template. The template is being used again with Syria.
No one is buying it now. However, we are now aware that a catalyzing catastrophic event like Pearl Harbor or 9/11 is an effective way of ensuring compliance to the machinations of the war party.
FDR once said, "If it happens, it is because we planned it that way." This kind of mindset negates the belief that the people are always in control of their government. Voting seems to be the last great argument of defense. But as we can obviously see the stakes are so awesome in this contest of life and death, that the characterization of the good guys and the bad guys has reached new levels of propaganda. Those who coerce you into believing that government will protect you from terror are very likely to be the criminal element behind that terror. They have created it and they can cure it.
They can also convince you how it all happened, with a tone of religious reverence and nationalist mythology powerful enough to convince people that giving up rights and freedoms are acts of patriotism.
One man who knew how to use political mythology was Philip D. Zelikow. At Harvard, he uncannily predicted the future. He had written in 1998 that in the future the inevitable next step is terrorism. He stated in his work “Catastrophic Terrorism” that readers should imagine the possibilities for themselves, because the most serious constraint on current policy [non-aggression] is lack of imagination.
“An act of catastrophic terrorism that killed thousands or tens of thousands of people and/or disrupted the necessities of life for hundreds of thousands, or even millions, would be a watershed event in America's history. It could involve loss of life and property unprecedented for peacetime and undermine Americans' fundamental sense of security within their own borders in a manner akin to the 1949 Soviet atomic bomb test, or perhaps even worse. Constitutional liberties would be challenged as the United States sought to protect itself from further attacks by pressing against allowable limits in surveillance of citizens, detention of suspects, and the use of deadly force.”
More violence would follow, either as other terrorists seek to imitate this great "success" or as the United States strikes out at those considered responsible. Like Pearl Harbor, such an event would divide our past and future into a "before" and "after." The effort and resources we devote to averting or containing this threat now, in the "before" period, will seem woeful, even pathetic, when compared to what will happen "after." Our leaders will be judged negligent for not addressing catastrophic terrorism more urgently.” - Philip D. Zelikow, "Imagining the Transforming Event"
Richard Perle thought differently when he stated:
"This is total war. We are fighting a variety of enemies. There are lots of them out there If we just let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely, and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy but just wage a total war, our children will sing great songs about us years from now." - Richard Perle, Advisor to George W. Bush - PNAC
Zelikow also believed that policy and history can be misused to reform cultural myth. He believed that: ""contemporary" history is "defined functionally by those critical people and events that go into forming the public's presumptions about its immediate past. The idea of 'public presumption'," he explained, "is akin to [the] notion of 'public myth' but without the negative implication sometimes invoked by the word 'myth.' Such presumptions are beliefs (1) thought to be true (although not necessarily known to be true with certainty), and (2) shared in common within the relevant political community.""
Zelikow was the executive director of the little known Aspen Strategy Group whose members included Condoleeza Rice. He also worked with Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz - the same men responsible for drafting the 'Project For The New American Century'.
Philip D. Zelikow was the author of the 9/11 Commission Report – the report was later was demonstrated to be a complete myth, full of lies and propaganda meant to shape what we now know as the 9/11 narrative.
We can praise the scientists, the architects and the engineers for demonstrating to us how the buildings came down in a controlled demolition. Groups have convinced nearly 83 percent of the consensus that something isn’t right with the official story of 9/11. But is that all we can do?
How many times can we argue about whether or not the government let the attacks happen on purpose or made it happen on purpose? As much as I have been involved with “truther” talk it also has to be pointed out that these theories and the cult mentality of finding the truth also becomes tiring and has also cancelled any and all attempts at exposing the criminal element.
We know about building 7 coming down in a controlled demolition, but does it prove that the north and south tower were also pulled? If it was accomplished as we think, was it done for safety reasons or was it done for a more horrific effect? It is confusing and compelling to argue over the motives, but what we have is documentation that demonstrates intent and a coincidental Pearl Harbor that was needed to benefit the military industrial complex.
The bottom line is that government planners of PNAC needed it to happen and they got what they wanted. Meanwhile, many in the country are still thinking that it was all about Saudi nationals with box cutters. They still believe that it was only about evil dictators and an ex-CIA employed “freedom fighter” Osama Bin Laden that for all we know died months after he was fingered as the chief suspect.
While we get into deep philosophical discussions over thermite explosions, building collapses, 'no plane' theories and the blame game - the criminal planners of the 9/11 attacks are happily getting away without facing trial.
Government officials get away with criminal activity because we have established a system that intrinsically knits corruption into the government construct. Where the law itself grants immunity in a way that makes successful prosecution the exception.
Successful prosecution and investigations into criminal activities in government also costs money. If you were to take a look at history’s most nefarious cases you would see that while some cases have deep pockets for investigation. Other cases, where criminal wrongdoing can be traced to public leaders, seem to be limited in budget.
For example, the overall cost for investigating the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster totaled $100 million dollars and the Columbia disaster investigation came in at a whopping $175 million dollars. When it comes to alleged criminal activity or wrong doing with a political figure or alphabet agency, investigation budgets are much lower.
The investigation into the Watergate scandal totaled $12 million dollars. The Clinton/Lewinsky scandal investigation cost the taxpayers $30 million dollars. Iran/Contra ran up a total of $35 million dollars.
The investigation into the September 11th, 2001 attacks only totaled $3 million dollars. Now, that was all that was allocated. Public Law 107-306 provided for the allowance of $3 million for the 9/11 Commission. Congress subsequently appropriated, and the President signed into law, an additional $11 million appropriation for the Commission. Recent legislation authorized an additional $1 million, bringing the Commission’s total budget to $15 million. Still the offering originally set at 3 million was an embarrassment. After haggling and begging $15 million is still less than investigating a stain on a blue dress. How is it that the biggest crime of the century was left with a small amount of money for investigating an alleged terrorist attack that plunged us into two wars?
$15 million wasn't enough to even start getting to the bottom of what happened. $15 million didn't pay for much other than some press releases and the costs of printing reports. It certainly wasn't enough to pay for real investigation or legal struggles to discover information which the government was stonewalling. The lack of funding and the lack of cooperation from the government compromised the investigation.
9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland resigned from the Commission, stating: "It should be a national scandal"; "This investigation is now compromised . . . This is `The Gong Show'"; and "One of these days we will have to get the full story because the 9-11 issue is so important to America. But this White House wants to cover it up."
Is it any wonder why there are so many conspiracy theories about the event?
Is it any wonder why I say that I grow tired of the narrative every year when no one will point out how this whole case did not matter to the government, nor did the lives of those shattered by the events?
It is a patriot’s duty to demand more and not play along when we know that justice has been negated.
In all of the chaos, there were so many stories being thrown around in the media that no one got the real truth about what was happening. Even Washington couldn’t get their suspects straight.
While Osama Bin Laden was the media darling and chief evil-doer-in-charge. He wasn’t even Washington’s first choice as mastermind for the attacks. All points and circumstantial evidence was being calculated by Donald Rumsfeld and he had expressed great interest in focusing our manhunt in another area.
CBS News reported in 2009: "that barely five hours after American Airlines Flight 77 plowed into the Pentagon, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld was telling his aides to come up with plans for striking Iraq — even though there was no evidence linking Saddam Hussein to the attacks."
The whole reason Cheney and the gang created PNAC was to send a message to Bill Clinton that he was too soft on Iraq. They demanded a regime change on January 16, 1998, following perceived Iraqi unwillingness to co-operate with UN weapons inspections. Members of the PNAC drafted an open letter to President Clinton asking him to remove Saddam Hussein from power using U.S. diplomatic, political and military power. They thought that Saddam would pose a threat to the United States, its Middle Eastern Allies and oil resources in the region. They also claimed that he had weapons of mass destruction.
All the same stuff we heard about after 9/11.
The sickest thing of all is that with all of the programming that we have been subjected to it is difficult to not doubt your own judgment. You’re told to support the troops and not the war. You are urged to slap a ribbon on your car so you can support a soldier who is being used as more collateral damage for an illegal police action. The disconnect has more and more people depressed and angry. It is important for you to realize that the way we feel, is what anyone would feel like after being traumatized: Tired, defeated, sad and betrayed.
Hussein is dead now and Osama bin Laden is dead, too - but still a phantom.
The same traumatizing methods are being used to distract us from what happened in Benghazi a year ago, and preparing us for an unwanted war in Syria.
Timing is everything. Do not forget the attacks of 9/11, but understand that the collective memory is being used to lure us in a social trance. A trance that may bring us back to the idea that the safe route is to find a new scapegoat; however, the suspects have always been in plain sight.
I don’t want to offend anyone.
I love America. I want it back. I will never forget what happened on 9/11 and I will never forget what I know. I am tired of remembering the lies. All I want is truth and some real intellectual honesty.
