MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU
EMPIRE OF ICARUS
Imagine for a moment that we have somehow time traveled to the not-too-distant future. Now in this future world, we find out the predictions of the scientists and of the doomsayers have come true. We are not dead, but in some ways, we wish we were.
The reasons are because the Earth has been stripped of its natural resources as a result of population growth and industrial expansion. The New World Order has been established in as much as the nations of the Earth have come together into an alliance that promotes global sustainability similar to what has been proposed by the United Nations.
The world has succumbed to “Empire Building” and has established laws and procedures that enable the world government to have full spectrum control over matters related to trade, travel, land claims and all efforts relating to outer space affairs.
By now, we have been made aware that for some time prior to all of the apocalyptic disasters, there has been a mining operation in space and a breakaway society that has already fallen under the auspices of the United Nations Space Alliance.
In order to develop new resources, the inhabitants of Earth rely on colonies established elsewhere in the Solar System in order to mine planets and asteroids for resources. The value of these outposts, however, attracts militant radicals who seek to control them; an action which could place the countries of Earth in a very unfavorable position. In response, the United Nations Space Alliance is defended by the Solar Associated Treaty Organization (SATO), a coordinated military structure that defends Earth and the Space Alliances holdings.
A new hostile faction emerges, known as the Settlement Defense Front (SDF), which consists of insurgents that have broken away from the United Nations Space Alliance during a war of secession.
Following years of a troubled stalemate with The Front, relations have deteriorated to a point where the entire Solar System is poised on the brink of war. The Settlement Defense Front declares war on the UNSA and launches a surprise attack on Geneva; severely weakening SATO’s forces on Earth.
Now this is a plausible scenario that could happen in the next 10 years – some of these instances could already be happening or in the planning stages.
But, it is only a game; this is the plot to a new video game called Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Its newest preview on You Tube gives us a glimpse of what modern space warfare would be like. It gives us information on the political motives of such a war, it demonstrates the idea of a global defense against radical factions, and hybrid warfare that includes the leap from Earth into space in order to protect resources being mined from asteroids and planets.
Again, we see a little predictive programming that may be revealing a secret space program that will work together with a United Nations Alliance that will not only keep space as the final frontier, but will also make it the ultimate battleground to have the upper-hand.
Today is May 4th, 2016. Since 2001, this day has been called, Star Wars Day, because the date can made into a play on words for “May the Fourth be with you,” a clever way to say the Jedi Knight euphemism, may the force be with you.
The first official recording of “May the 4th be with you” was documented by Margaret Thatcher’s political party while congratulating on her election on May 4th, 1979. The saying quickly caught on, but reportedly really took off in 2001.
The Star Wars movies are rich in mythology and stories that never go away. There is esoteric knowledge that can be found in these films. When I was a kid, a world with a furry Wookiee and a chirping droid was all magical and we could only fantasize as we did with The Star Trek series that man broke the bounds of gravity and was able to move about in space at warp speed.
It was a long time ago some 3000 years in the past, when the parable of Icarus was told. It was long before dreams were labeled impossible and magic flew through the air on the gossamer wings of desire.
It was the story of how a young boy’s ambitions got the best of him and how he yearned to fly higher than the sea. How did this idea get into his head? Why would anyone want to go beyond the stars? Maybe it was because there were others who traveled across the sky and were seen by dreamers like Icarus.
In mythology, there is truth. I believe there is some truth in all belief systems. Every belief has relevance. Every myth has relevance. It is through the myths that exist in belief systems whereby essential truths come forward. We learn from these stories and we learn about who we are and we see many icons that tend to show up every time we blow the dust off some bible or old book in the attic.
In his book, The Power of Myth, Joseph Campbell calls this “the commonality of themes” in world myths, pointing to a constant requirement in the human psyche for a centering in terms of deep principles.
This is why, as stories are told and re–told for generations, the names and faces change but the archetypes remain intact. They act as an ongoing cultural dialogue, and we may have to pause for a moment and listen to what these stories are trying to tell us.
We may even have to admit that stories similar to the story of Icarus, have given mankind the ambition to soar towards the Sun. Since we already have soared towards the moon, we now know the sky is no longer the limit anymore. However, how we get through space and the speeds we can reach to cut travel time has been a problem for aerospace engineers.
In Star Wars, ships of all sizes move through space at hyper speeds, and they are capable of maneuvering through battle fronts without a problem.
Star Wars has shown us space warfare that is similar to World War II fighter engagement. Star Trek has given us pirate ship type two-dimensional naval combat scenes, and we have seen the Newtonian dynamics of Battlestar Galactica’s space planes.
It is important to say that space warfare or space combat is three dimensional in nature, In principle this means that your enemy in space could come at you from any direction at all. But that is only if these machines can reach faster than light speeds.
Hyperspace popularized in Star wars and warp drive to achieve faster-than-light travel a concept popularized in television’s Star Trek may not be as unrealistic as once thought, scientists say.
A warp drive would manipulate space-time itself to move a starship, taking advantage of a loophole in the laws of physics that prevent anything from moving faster than light. A concept for a real-life warp drive was suggested in 1994 by Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre; however, subsequent calculations found that such a device would require prohibitive amounts of energy.
Now physicists say that adjustments can be made to the proposed warp drive that would enable it to run on significantly less energy, potentially bringing the idea back from the realm of science fiction into science.
In the meantime, it would be wise to construct space platforms and put them in space because we can’t just pop our fleets into existence near our enemies. Every movement now is based on orbit dynamics. So we would have to use complex high-power radar-reflection surveillance satellites in certain empty reaches of space, and would have to mine asteroids, or the moon or other locations for fuel and other resource materials.
Last year, the internet was buzzing over a claim that NASA was working on a warp drive propulsion system.
The story goes that a team based at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston reportedly tested a prototype engine system in a vacuum and determined that it produced a small amount of thrust. This news was disclosed on a NASAspaceflight.com forum and it then soared off on the internet as pieces of what was reported was rumored to be warp drive.
The novel thruster system is based on the EmDrive, a British invention said to create thrust without propellant by bouncing microwaves around inside a chamber. If it works, the engine could revolutionize spaceflight and it would apparently violate the laws of physics, as well.
Sounds very warpish to me, but of course, NASA backed off and said “While conceptual research into novel propulsion methods by a team at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston has created headlines, this is a small effort that has not yet shown any tangible results,” NASA officials told Space.com in a statement. “NASA is not working on ‘warp drive’ technology.”
Once again, people will say that they wonder why they are downplaying such discoveries.
This Summer marks the 50th anniversary of the first episode airing of Star Trek.
Star Trek’s influence can be seen in everything from space exploration to flip cell phones to virtual reality. Now, even though NASA has downplayed their warp drive technology. there is one man who is saying that warp drive is possible and is coming soon – time travel may also be something we can do in a very near future.
Marshall Barnes has launched an aggressive campaign to bring warp drive into reality. Marshall is a research and development engineer who works in the advanced concept science and technology area, and a leading figure in the STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) education movement. But in 2000, he began research into specially synthesized electromagnetic fields which led to his creation of the STDTS, the first functioning prototype for warp drive.
After years of testing it and delays caused by the economy and other pressing projects, he has recently launched a campaign to bring his invention into the public and establish its reality.
He has called Ground Zero several times during our secret space program shows to tell us of his progress. The STDTS has been seen on a limited scale in public at conferences, conventions and even the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington D.C.
Among those who have seen videos of such tests as acceleration and gravity drops, are a number of scientists such as Ronald Mallett, PhD of the University of Connecticut and Alan Gould of the NASA Kepler Mission. Even Eugene Roddenberry, the son of Star Trek creator, Gene Roddenberry, has seen one of the videos and allowed himself to be filmed supporting the research.
As a caller into the show, Marshall has said on Ground Zero that he will have the first warp drive space program operational inside of three years.
The general consensus at the moment believes that our scientific knowledge and technological achievement has yet to catch up to the limitless dreams of our imaginations.
Many scientists look to the possible existence of other levels of reality, or other universes, as a way to make time travel work outside of the restrictions of light speed and paradoxes. Imagine another universe alongside our own where the laws of physics are so completely different; that what is impossible here is mundane and trivial there. Multiple worlds, even, where each is different from the other, or perhaps an infinite number of universes where many would be exactly like our own.
Here, we tread in multiverse territory which goes beyond the realms of spherical planets and super bright stars.
Soon, we will have to develop wilder imaginations and titanic dreams in order to push ourselves to this multiversity.
