RAMA

THE GOBLIN PROTOCOL

MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS

As the federal agency that is in charge of exploring outer space, NASA never stops being at the front door for all manner of alien conspiracies. It has been common knowledge for some time that NASA still abides by a 50-year-old policy of denial with regards to any information regarding discoveries in space that may abruptly affect the people on planet earth.

NASA commissioned the Brookings Research Institute in Washington to prepare a report on the likelihood of encountering extraterrestrial life and to detail how NASA UFO sightings should be handled. The Final 219-Page Report, published in 1960, was titled “Proposed Studies on the Implications of Peaceful Space Activities for Human Affairs.” One section was dedicated to the “Implications of a Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life.” The study is now referred to simply as “The Brookings Report.”

The report predicted that if extraterrestrial life were discovered, it could bring about “profound changes, or even the collapse of our civilization.” The report noted that such a discovery could come about at any time and that any admission of UFO activity could incite fear in the public. It suggested that evidence of alien existence might be found in artifacts left on the moon or other planets.

The Brookings Report made no specific recommendations to NASA about continuing secrecy around UFOs and extraterrestrials. In one sense, it suggested that the public would be “less shocked” if the information was revealed. On the other hand, the report concluded that more studies needed to be done in order to determine how the public would respond “emotionally and intelligently” to the discovery of “intelligent extraterrestrial life.”

The report questioned whether the public should be told about any encounters, or whether the information should be “withheld from the public for what ends.”

Back when the Brookings Report was published; the world was a very different place. Space exploration technology was still in its early phases, and the prospect of sending humans to the moon was still a dream.

A lot has changed since 1960. Three countries have now focused on the moon, Japan has deployed jumping robots on an asteroid, an internal space station orbits our planet and the U.S has landed a rover on Mars.

And yet NASA operates in an antiquated fashion when it comes to its discoveries and its policies with reporting possible life in space and possible craft operated by extraterrestrial intelligence.

For the skeptics, excluding the subject is evidence of the alleged non-existence of such things. The media does not help as they make subtle and derisive comments which question the validity of any reports, even if they come from credible science journals.

A speculative culture has developed a cargo cult of sorts with regard to aliens because of a half-century of this stonewalling.

We appear to be interacting with an exceptionally patient intelligence which, despite its advantages over terrestrial science, seems limited by a steadfast refusal to make itself widely known.

The alleged extraterrestrial intelligence, contrary to our expectations has been hinting at their existence with a trickle down or gradual form of contact. This is evidenced by theatric sightings of large craft, or bright lights.

Many will agree that we are still searching for answers and that more information is needed especially beyond NASA’s scope and we can also agree that the Brookings Report is antiquated and should either be dismissed or at least updated to include some of the more compelling findings dealing with extraterrestrial life.

With the latest updates from NASA’s Kepler mission showing potentially habitable worlds strewn across the galaxy, it’s becoming harder and harder to assert that we’re alone in the universe. And if and when we do encounter intelligent life forms, we’ll want to communicate with them, which means we’ll need some basis for understanding their cognition.

We also have to take into consideration that much of what he speculates about concerning extraterrestrial intelligence may not be fact, especially when analysis is taking the supernatural out of the equation.

The study of biological life elsewhere in the solar system is not the same as identifying anthropomorphic alien greys or even blonde Nordic versions of extraterrestrials.

It is not an argument as to whether or not these beings are demons or angels – it is the practical approach of deciding that perhaps they are post biological. We explored the

The new theories about post-biological life that may have been responsible for the reports of alien greys that have been responsible for the various accounts of human abductions.

There are so many new things that Scientists have hypothesized regarding the advances being made in determining whether or not we are alone in the universe and it is too bad that there is still a huge percentage of people that are unaware of what has transpired in the nearly 50 decades of denial.

Confirmation has happened; however, it has been contained.

Science is softening its stance on life in space; however, while confirmation of alien life is becoming a constant at this time, there is still some apprehensive containment of the information that is still too nebulous for science to put a definitive label on it.

Given humanity’s current rapid development of computer intelligence, which can currently out-perform human intelligence in a variety of computational tasks, there may be a good chance that many alien civilizations have already passed the threshold that we are now facing.

Science is now taking many of the original theories about aliens from noted cosmologists Frank Drake to Enrico Fermi and using them to spring forward the idea that once a species creates technology that could put them in touch with other life forms in the cosmos, they are only a few hundred years away from changing their own cognitive paradigm from a biological intelligence to a synthetic intelligence.

Fermi’s Paradox, contends that we know there are many stars in the universe older than our own sun that has Earth-like, habitable planets orbiting them; and yet, we have no concrete evidence that alien life has ever visited Earth, nor have we ever made any contact with extraterrestrials since the space program was launched.

However, as the human race undergoes unprecedented intellectual advances we may be able to detect things in space that we would have otherwise ignored. With Artificial Intelligence, we may be able to uncover undiscovered signals that have been sent to us from other extraterrestrials or from the technology that they use for communication.

If we believe in the great filter theory, finding other evolves life forms such as our own would be rare because in some cases extraterrestrial civilizations may not have the capabilities we have in communication or sending signals.

At times where circumstances may bar a civilization from further development – we may even face a moment in time where we could hit a wall in our quest for biological intelligence that is similar to human intelligence.

However, science is not at all hitting a wall when it comes to new discoveries and recently there have been some very interesting developments that are pushing us closer to defining what is watching us from a distance.

In October of 2017, something unexpected happened.

A weird interstellar object named ‘Oumuamua’ was discovered. There has been speculation about the possibility that this object was an alien spaceship.

So much so that, before its official name was decided upon, the name Rama was put forward – a reference to the alien spacecraft discovered under similar circumstances in Arthur C. Clarke’s 1973 science fiction novel, Rendezvous with Rama.

Since then, though, speculation has cooled off somewhat – and it is now generally accepted that ‘Oumuamua’ is a strangely elongated, mostly inert comet traveling at huge speeds due to its origin beyond our Solar System, somewhere in interstellar space.

But that hasn’t stopped a team of scientists, including SETI investigators Jill Tarter and Seth Shostak from conducting a study investigating whether there are any radio signals being emitted from Oumuamua.

However, President Trump was notified that scientists were following this craft and that rumor has it that this event came close to being a disclosure event. After hearing about the remote possibility of this elongated object was an alien space craft, he started pushing harder for the establishment of the “Space Force.”

After we were informed that the Pentagon was investigating the threat assessment of Unidentified flying objects a meeting was called by the National Academy of Sciences’ Committee on Astrobiology Science Strategy for the Search for Life in the Universe. The meeting was held at the University of California, Irvine.

It was at this meeting that Astrophysicist Jill Tarter, one of the world’s best-known leaders in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, stated that the so-called SETI program will have to be renamed.

Tarter explained that the phrase “search for extraterrestrial intelligence” generates an incorrect perception of what scientists in this field of study were actually doing. A more appropriate title for the field, she said, would be “the search for technosignatures,” or signs of technology created by intelligent alien civilizations.

To me, this meant that secretly these scientists who scan space for space signals from extraterrestrial civilizations may have stumbled on something that may be a signal from extraterrestrial technology rather than direct conversations between biological entities.

Eavesdropping on a conversation between alien civilizations would be fascinating, but detecting an alien signal with a technological signal may be forthcoming; however, there would have to be a staff put in place that would be capable of interpreting the signal and its signature.

If a technological signal was detected who would be there to detect or learn the nuances of what the signal means?

This week, NASA is hosting a conference dedicated to rethinking the quest: NASA wants scientists to evaluate how far the search for technosignatures has come and what the most promising possibilities for the future are.

Presentations will include discussions of different types of technosignatures, how different types of technology can pick them up and what other developments like the rise of big data offer to the field. The workshop includes many speakers who have been leading the search for extraterrestrial intelligence for decades.

So while we have not received confirmed reports of contact with extraterrestrial intelligence one would assume that something or some civilization may have sent a technosignature or several signatures.

It can also be assumed that perhaps Oumuamua did send a technosignature and that this anomaly is still being assessed for possible direct hit.

In June of this year there was something that happened with Oumuamua that again had scientist rethinking its decision to call it a rogue comet.

An international science team analyzed both ground and space-based observations of Oumuamua as it traversed our Solar System, and they found something strange. Its arc could not solely be explained by the effect of gravity exerted by the Sun or other objects. The object appeared to accelerate on its own. It was reported in some circles that the anomaly had accelerated again and again; the acceleration of the object was not caused by cometary out-gassing.

When the object moved into the Jovian system it accelerated as if it was intelligently piloted. In only another four years, it will pass Neptune’s orbit on its way back into interstellar space.

Now, there are still a few more coincidences that have been happening after the announcement about Oumuamua.

After President Trump’s announcement of the new branch of the military called, Space Force, and now the announcement of technosignature discoveries, there have been planet discoveries that are even closer than the ones discovered by the Kepler telescope.

We all know that last week we discovered the Planet Vulcan in our cosmic backyard and now it appears that scientists will not be satisfied until they reveal the whereabouts of “Planet X.”

Now, scientists are claiming that discoveries of planets like Vulcan are merely breadcrumbs that are leading us to the reality of Planet X.

“Planet X,” is a hypothetical object at the far reaches of our solar system that some scientists believe tugs on the orbits of the other planets within it. During a recent hunt for this hypothetical planet, scientists failed to discover Planet X itself, but found something else that supports its existence.

As the astronomers from the Carnegie Institute of Science, Northern Arizona University, and University of Hawaii announced yesterday, the recent hunt for Planet X led to the discovery of 2015 TG387, an object two and a half times farther away from the Sun than Pluto currently is. This extreme dwarf planet, nicknamed “The Goblin” because it was first spotted around Halloween, supports the idea that Planet X is out there, somewhere even farther out.

Though Planet X is accepted by NASA as a hypothetical planet, there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding its existence. As NASA writes:

The existence of this distant world is only theoretical at this point and no direct observation of the object nicknamed has been made. The mathematical prediction of a planet could explain the unique orbits of some smaller objects in the Kuiper Belt, a distant region of icy debris that extends far beyond the orbit of Neptune. Astronomers are now searching for the predicted planet.

The Goblin could be one of many objects with extra-long orbits that circles the solar system far beyond its accepted borders. Its perihelion the point at which it’s closest to the Sun is the third-most distant one scientists are aware of.

However, with all of the talk of the breadcrumbs leading to the great and mysterious Planet X – NASA continues to emphasize that this discovery is by no means implying that this is the Planet Nibiru.

The Goblin is far from that, but in its own way, having lurked undetected at the distant reaches of our solar system for so long, it’s just as spooky and actually gives more and more credence to those who speculate that a rogue doomsday planet is headed for a collision course with earth.
