His father, Lyle Talbot, was a cofounder of the Screen Actors Guild. Talbot attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned his degree. Career Talbot has had a distinguished career in journalism, working as a senior editor at Mother Jones and the features editor at the San Francisco Examiner. He has also written for prominent publications such as The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Time, and The Guardian.
